Our History...

Allestree Netball Club evolved back in May 2005 from a humble birthday party for our founders daughters 9th birthday party, being a self confessed lover it didn't just stop there.

In August 2005, my daughter & I held an open Summer "Come & Try" day each week of the holidays, at our local park. With great support from the local newsaper we slowly grow from a drip to a trickle. In 8 weeks (September '05) we entered newly set up grass roots Junior League with a team of very enthusiastic girls ranging between 9 years - 12 years. Along with 2 Senior Teams into the established senior league.

During the next 4 months we worked hard raising as much interest & desperately need funds doing bag packing, car washes raffles.

In 2006 we continued to grow with 2 more new teams entering the Junior League with high hopes. Our fund raising event this year was in the form of a 24 hour marathon wich helped raise a high profile for our club & the sport of netball with local companies & groups of the general public.

In June 06 we endeavoured on our first tournament to Prestatyn Pontins with our Under 15's with a following weekend with our Under 13's to Brean Sands Pontins Tournament. Where we were extremely greatful to recieve a donation from MOTORPOINT in the shape of a Minibus, Tax & Insurance free of charge!! The girls enjoyed the first class travel to there event by taking our Under 13's with our very first tour where they learnt a lot & enjoyed every minute of the weekend & came away with a Semi Final Position.

At Christmas the girls bag packed at Somerfields to raise money for new kit for the emerging new teams as the Club continued to grow we raised a staggering £1,463.77.

I am very proud of the girls with their finishing positions of Under 12's Winning along with our 2nd Under 12's - Runners Up

A fantastic result for only our 2nd season!!

The year started off with a buzz as the club was awarded twice for its contiunued efforts to promote Netball in the community.
The first being awarded with the Barclays Sports Award which helped recognise our wonderful volunteers & a reward to all our members with T-Shirts, bags, Bottles Jackets & bibs as well as many other goodies. The second being our BRONZE CAPS award thanks to Laura Geroges's dedication to her club & sport. As this is a very lenghty procedure.

We begun Summer 2007 with another Under 16's Senior Team. As our top Under 16's being promoted to the Senior League.

This christmas (Dec 07) present was a fantastic bag packing result of £1,612.02 with the help of 32 junior members packing over the festive season!!

On 15th January 2008 the summer season finished with an awsome result for the club with Wins & Runners up again for all our Junior Teams including our new Under 16's squad in their first season. Our newly promoted U 16's also finished with a superb Joint first losing only on goals for.

Our seniors have also had a good season with our Div 1 squad holding a good 3rd place & yet not lost a match. Our Div 2 in th place & our Div 3 squad finishing in First place.

We are planning a tour to Malta in October for our year 11's & seniors along with our Juniors defending their Semi final positions in June 08.

The club has also attracted corporate support & public funding. Nevertheless the members are also helping to raise their own funds for them selves. Checkout the Events page for forthing coming events & the link for past fund raising activities.
A.N.C. is based in Allestree, Derby, training & playing locally.

To have FUN on & off the court through regular social events. With so much going on there are also development opportunities as Allestree Netball club in tune with All Engaland Netball. ''CAPS'' Sponsors coaching & Umpiring development.
