Christmas Bag Pack The Prechristmas weekend saw Allestree Netball girl volunteers put themselves out, helping to pack Allestree shoppers bags. Bobbing apples, The Smelling corner all added to the Quiz night. Finally the evening was all wrapped up by the mega Mummy game. Special thanks to Lynne & Donna for manning the bar & serving up the piping hot Curry for all to enjoy. If that wasn't enough thanks must go to Mrs Ordish for suppling a fabulous cake too. WILLOW SATURDAY AFTERNOON LEAGUE Some of the girls have arranged teams to play over the Summer Holidays at Willows Sports Centre. This Saturday will be their first game at 3.30p.m. Each game is 30minutes long & you'll need £3.00 subs per game. After Monday i will post the new dates & times for both Milkies & Star Bursts confirm with. Good luck to both teams... UPDATE... Starbust & Ripples joint teams have WON the Divsion 1 LEAGUE !!!! What a club of talent we have well done girls SATELITE & ACADEMY 2nd TRIAL AUDITIONS for 2007... CONGRATULATIONS... To the following members who were selected for the Satelite Academy to work towards developing there skills to achieve county status. These are:- Vickie George, Hatty Black, Amy Beckett, Annie Marshall, Chrissy Palin, Kayliegh Hardy ,Ellen Fox, Meghan Hayer, (all from Starburst squad!!) also Gen Twai, Claudia Sherry, Becky Winbow, Mariella Sherry, Billie Chell some of our newest members. In addition to these we were also able to represent our most recent high 5 members with 2 successful candidates:- Rachel Wilson, Zoe Hallock, Emily Beckett, Ella Redfern, Katie Gilligan & Isabella Sturgess (again the whole Maltezers team!!!!). Not forgetting our oldies!!, well done to Keeley Wilson, Sophie Ordish, Chloe Ordish, Charlotte Bright, Lucy Siena, Emily Tomlinson, Nicole Bailey & Hannah Wisdish. Who were also successful in being selected for the Derbyshire Academy finalist. WELL DONE TO YOU ALL you make Allestree Netball Club one of the most successful clubs in Derbyshire in representation to the new development of Englands structure. Out of 27 trialist we had 25 successful candidates!!! Not bad for only our 2nd season... Unfortunately for Amy Green, Sasha Wisdish just missed out, even though they gave a sturdy performance were unable to gain entry to Satelite/ Academy. But an excellent performance on the day. Remember this is a base for next trials day & use what you have learnt to make the next selection a triumph. NEW SATELITE TRIAL DATES THE NEW TRIAL DATE IS 1st MARCH 2008. The Venue will be as always at Woodlands Sch, Blenheim Drive (Our Training Facility) Academy 9 - 12pm Year exceptional year 9, 10's & 11's Satelite 12.30 - 3pm Top Year 6's, 7's, & 8's Cost £3.00 per athlete Training for succefull candidate will be from March - June 2008 (excluding School holidays) THIS IS BY COACH/ PE TEACHERS RECOMMENDATION ONLY SO LAURA WILL GIVE YOU A FORM TO ENTER IF LAURA FEELS THAT YOU CAN COPE WITH THE INTENSE DEMAND ... Regional Club Play Offs trials on the 11th November 2007. A big well done to a combination of Ripples & Skittles team who represented Allestree Netball Club in the regional Under 16's play offs on Sunday, to go forward to eventually represent Derbyshire. Thank you girls for working so hard to make Allestree Runners Up in the regional play offs. We now have a hard task ahead of us in which we have 5 matches top play starting on the:- 6th January 9.30am - 1pm AWAY to Clifftonettes (Nott's) WON 23 - 21 20th January 9am - 3pm AWAY to Lutterworth N. C. (leic) WON 32 - 19 17th February 2 - 4pm HOME to Sea Siders WON 24 -17 9th March FREE WEEKEND 16th March 10 - 12pm HOME to Future Print RESULT If you not available to commit to these dates. PLEASE LET ME KNOW A.S.A.P. The opposition will be against other regional selected squads who are playing for a position into the NATIONAL FINALS which are being held on the 12th April & 3rd May. Make it a wonderful birthday present for me !!! The games will be held over 4 x 15 minute quarters home matches will be held Woodlands Sch. Away games at host chosen venue. Let's show the region what we're capable of ... The Under 14's trials will also be held at our home venue, Woodlands School, on the 9th March 2008!! 2.30 - 4.30p.m. ANY UNDER girls who are in YEAR 8 or 9 WISHING TO TAKE PART in the regional tournament being held at Woodlands. PLEASE LET LAURA OR PAUL AWARE, BY THE 25TH FEBRUARY!!! Ideally I would prefer to put your whole team in as a group but if not then we will feel in for any individuals who wish to take part. Starburst have already been entered but we do have 1 team place to fullfill so first come first entered... COACHING COURSES AVAILABLE This week Paul Hardy has achieved his LEVEL 1 Coaching Qualification with distinction. We are all very proud of your hard work, dedication & enthusiasm!!! Thank you Paul for volunteering the time & expenses to enable Allestree Netball Club work towards our SILVER Caps. There is another Level 1 Coaching Course being held on the 22nd & 23rd February ,16th March (assesment day) cost £170.00 each but funding is available from England Netball Brusary Funds. Any body interested please contact myself or England directly A.S.A.P. Have a go you will be surprised with just how much you already know!! GOOG LUCK to Keeley Wilson & Jane Sherry who will be attending this course. We know you can do it!! UMPIRING COURSE C award being held at woodlands sch on the 18th March from 6.30 - 9.30 Cost £25.00 (£20 if affiliated) Few places are available so please contact either Laura or Dawn Heron directly on 07786 803832 for an application pack & further details. The more players who attend will mean your match nights will be more fairly distributed among each other. Rather than the same person being asked each week to stay behind. (You also get a fee for the honour!!). We have 11 memebers attending the course & are very proud of you all for taking the challenge!! Details will follow... Bag Packing Somerfields, Park Farm Centre, Allestree for this yers fund raising will be from 9a.m. - 5p.m. both Saturday 22nd December & CHRISTMAS EVE 24th December 2007. I have made Somerfields give us Christmas eve to raise funds. If we do not fullfill this slot with a prospective profit of £800 i will be most disapointed & embarrased as the store has turned down other clubs to honour our request which i put in last year. Apart from Hatty wrecking the ice-cream machine in pizza hut every one had a most enjoyable time especially for those of our new members who have not taken part in i of our social nights. (photo following) "GIRLS ON TOUR - PONTINS 2008 We will be visiting the Prestatyn Pontins this year on the following dates:- Under 11, 12 &13's 20th - 22nd June 2008 Then the 14,15 & 16's are away on the 27th - 29th June 2008.!! I hope our teams will enjoy the weekend full of Fun & fantastic netball... Our first summer event in the new year to raise funds for club activities & Girls on Tour campaign will be several car wash events in April & May 2008 at Marketon Island Mc Donalds Restuarant. Although we were only able to raise £81.50 the spirit was fabulous & as always 150%, which has gone on & kick started our fund raising pot. (photo's to follow) MATCH REPORTS & Coaches Comments. WHAT A FANTASTIC RESULT TO THE WITH THE CONFIRMATION OF THE WINTER SEASON 2007.. The results have been outstanding. Your growth has been so strong & with an emormous depth which is a credit to you all as a team & especially as a club!! The top of all three age groups have been dominated by ALLESTREE NETBALL CLUB. Even into the senior divisions with all 3 of our lady teams in 1st 2nd & 3rd places what a way to start celebrating this christmas. Just keep up the amazing performances as we go into 2008. I am SO PROUD OF EACH & EVERY ONE OF MY GIRLS & it just goes to show how much you listen & take on board the tips given throughout training & your performances on the day. Under 16's in (Senior league) Skittles finished joint - 1st place Under 16's Ripples finished - 1st place Under 14's Star Burst finished - 1st place 2nd place Milky Ways Under 12's 1st place Honey combs 2nd place Maltezers 4th place Jelly Beans We have only lost 4 games to other junior clubs throughout the competition by all 6 junior teams the league since it started through Sept, Oct, Nov & December, which is quite some feet. Well done to all the girls ESPECIALLY JELLY BEANS, who have given 150% to all their games & huge opposition in size & years given away!!! TEAM CHANGES FOR 2008 TEAM CHANGES for Summer 2008 Skittles have been promoted to Division B of the Senior Div. after becoming joint winners of Division C. Ripples have been promoted to Div C of the Senior Div. for the first time. Galaxy join for their very first season together, Div 1 U16's Star Burst n Milky Ways promoted to Div 2 Honey Combs n Maltezers promoted to Div 3 after winning and becoming runners up!! Jelly Beans n Jelly Tots join Div 4 in their own rights for there first season. Let's show everyone that this is the start of something big & A.N.C. are a force to be reckoned with... | COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED The club is struggling to supervise fundraising events & this all became very apparent at our tournament on the 15th July 2007, which Laura promoted, organised & arrange SINGLE HANDEDLY. Only with the much needed & wonderful help Paul (Kayliegh's Dad) & Mary (Anthonia's Mum) gave on the day, meant that this event was able to continue.... lAURA DOESN'T MIND DOING IT but IT FINDING IT HARD TO CONTINUE ALONG THIS PATH. SHE WON'T ASK FOR THE HELP THAT SHE NEEDS, BUT I, HER HUSBAND, THINKS THAT THE CLUB NEEDS MORE PEOPLE TO SUPPORT THE DAY TO DAY RUNNING & HELP WITH RESPONSIBILITIES OR ROLES AT MANY OF THESE EVENTS THAT LAURA ORGANISIES FOR YOUR YOUNGSTERS & SENIORS. THUS ALEVIATE SOME OF THE HARD WORK & OFTEN HEARTACHE SHE ENDURES, ENABLING MANY OF YOU TO ENJOY THE GREAT ACTIVITIES LAURA PUTS ON FOR ALL THE MEMBERS & THEIR FAMILIES. THERE WILL BE NO MORE EVENTS UNTIL HELP & COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS ARE OFFERED. If we don't get any volunteers... then sadly there will no longer any more social/fund raising events as the committee is down to 4 members !!! If you would like to help then come along to our next meeting 17th April Notices Continued. We are hoping to enroll a new U 10's & U 13's squad for the start of the new season which will comprise of our HIGH 5 members competing in there firstever competative games!! This is in additon to the existing 5 Junior teams that we have in the Yardley League. I am hoping that some of your wonderful parents or members of the ladies teams would like to take the role of managers for the new teams. Your job would intale being present for the start of your teams match, look after there bibs & match ball. Collect subs & pay court fees on the night. This would take a lot of pressure off of Laura who can then concentrate on her own junior team. We are looking for another U 12 & U14 Manager. Any Mum's or Dad's who would like to take this role on with assistance from myself to start with then please CALL ME before the start of the season. THANK YOU Paul Hardy (Parent & Ass' Coach) & Lin Wilson (Parent & wonderful left hand)& Keeley Wilson (one of our U 16 members!!) Your support in taking on a Managers role has been tremendous. A time consumer & extra role has been taken off my shoulders & I can now concentrate on my role as coach to the young hopefuls of our future. You are all STARS!! Good Luck to Skittles who were WINNERS of the Divsion 1 Yardley League 2006 - 07, who will be entering the Senior Division of the Yardley League in September. Where they will be set many strong challenges against experienced & older players... but i know they are ready for the gauntlet that has been thrown down by giving 150% as always. IN ADDITION... a combination of our Under 16 squads, Ripples who came "Runners Up" in the Yardley Junior League 2006 - 07 will be entering for the first time in our clubs journey the DANA League held on a Monday night against many strong Senior teams so just ENJOY your netball... New Match Kit livery Update. If you any members need any kit for the start of the Septmeber or replacements then I must have your orders & money by mid end of June at the very latest. The kit cost from £45.00 This includes Skirt, sleeveless (or cap sleeved for juniors)top, knickers & Bib. The training tops are optional at £19.00 & £25.00 each. (dependent on size) By great demand we have also included a new item of kit for optional purchase which is a HOODEY. This comes with our clubs logo on breast pocket & your choice of surname or nick name to go on the back. These come in optional Blue or Orange at a Cost of £17.00. Orders take 4 weeks. Our first order is going in on the 25th June please e-mail me via web site or post chq to my home address thus confirming your order. Those who do not wish to purchase the new styled jackets, are welcomed to keep their exisitng track suits. Thus enabling any new members who may wish to purchase the exisitng styled track suits at £15.00 free to do so.
